We have just returned from a very enjoyable Norwegian Fjordland cruise on the Magellan. After we booked it, I read some very negative reviews on the site but I am happy to say that our experience was somewhat different. Yes, the cabin may not have been bang up to date but it was spotlessly clean as was the rest of the ship. The food was excellent and the entertainment was good. All the staff were friendly and our waiters and cabin steward were brilliant. My husband has various food intolerances, especially to preservatives, and the Maitre D at our restaurant checked with the baker that he could eat the rolls, even going to his cabin to wake him up and check. Poor soul.
Disembarkation was smooth . Some people had to queue for embarkation because the ship was late arriving but they had caught up by the time our slot came...we were the last. Trips were well organised and enjoyable.
We were a bit worried when we saw where our cabin was, deck 4, the lowest passenger deck, next to the crew's restaurant, I think. But it was quiet and we never had any problems waiting for the lifts. A plumbing problem in the cabin was dealt with immediately it was reported,
