The Shows-- The in-house production company was excellent and again, Celebrity has wisely invested money into live shows. One of the soloists, Ashlie-Amber, was featured in her own show, in tribute to the late Whitney Houston. The Las Vegas Tenors, James Stephens III, Tom Franek and others filled out additional evening shows. All the ship’s production shows received standing ovations! The Equinox band is a group of very professional and skilled musicians who are able to put together backing for a solo performer with little rehearsal time---this is truly a mark of well-trained musicians!

Ports of Call- I didn’t do any shore excursions during the cruise, preferring to wander around on my own and explore the ports cities. I have an issue with the so-called “Port Talks” which are shopping guides for jewelry, diamonds and gold. I believe Celebrity should explore the possibility of getting lecturers to speak about the various islands, history, culture etc. The “maps” of each destination was marked only with the preferred shopping places--nothing of any historical value. I found Curacao to be an interesting place and wouldn’t mind visiting it again. I had no issues with any of the local residents--those who hawk tours at the pier, take “No, thank you” for a reasonable answer and move on to the next person. Key West was very interesting and, I thought, more tropical looking than mainland Florida. The “Little White House” was a poignant reminder of President Harry S. Truman and his time spent there.

On Board Activities-- Of course, there are always the usual things: bingo, trivia quizzes, Name That Tune, pool games etc. A couple of lecturers were on board, one of which I attended on astronomy. The speaker also hosted “star watch” sessions in the evening on the upper deck. Coloring for Adults was interesting though not well-attended. Scrap Booking was another session which attracted some scrappers. Chairs in the sun get grabbed early in the day and woe to anyone who moves an item inactive for over 30 minutes--leave that to the pool butlers. Most sunbathers leave inhibitions at home--some should never appear in public in swimwear--enough said on that!

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom 9

Cabin 09

The cabin was nice appointed with a small sitting area (couch and table), a small writing desk, ample storage of which I used the closet and three drawers. The bathroom was a little larger than other cruise lines and the shower is quarter-round with sliding doors rather than a curtain. The cabin attendant did a wonderful job. She maintained the room twice daily!
