We've been on 15 cruises -12 on CCL. For reference, we'll be platinum on our Vista cruise in July, so we purchased FTTF for this last one. We also had cheers (yes, worth it for us). Just got off the Glory - here's my impression.

First time on this particular ship. We were married during a cruise on the Liberty, a sister ship, several years ago.

Food: MDR was short of disappointing. We went to the steakhouse the first night (amazing as always and exceptional service). Night 2 went to MDR. Don't even remember what we ate but it was blah and tasteless. Quantity and quality of the caesar salad has declined. Chocolate lava cake was overcooked, it was literally a 'cake' throughout. We skipped the MDR the rest of the cruise with the exception of the night they serve escargot (YUM!!!) That night I had the short ribs (amazing). Husband had the lasagna which was mostly good but did not have much sauce. In total we had only those two nights in MDR, by choice. We had sushi (spicy tuna is soo good) 3 nights sitting in the lounge by Alchemy (with Martini's of course) and the steakhouse twice. We enjoyed the BBQ twice as well during lunch hours. Very good. The pulled pork was our favorite, and interestingly enough, is not listed on the menu. Guys is very good as always, and we love the Blue Iguana Cantina for the breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros when it's not a sea day. We typically really enjoy the prosciutto pizza (has the arugula on it), but for some reason found other things to enjoy until the last day. When we finally ordered it, the ship was "out of arugula". Pizza wasn't the same. We had originally reserved Chef's Table which we have done many times before, but learned the Glory is still on the same menu from the last 2 years so we canceled.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Cabin 8M

Typical aft balcony cabin. Little to no vibration. Very minor squeaking noise across the ceiling when the AC turned off. There is no couch in this cabin, rather a small round table and one chair. The entry door is in the corner directly next to the door for the wrap cabin #7445 the both but up against the corner so you may hear some noise from them coming or going. Biggest complaint was the BLINDING bright lights shining down from Lido directly onto the balconies on decks 7 and 8. It made the balcony unusable after dark, which is a big reason we book the aft. Very disappointing. Contacted guest services about it and was told it was "part of the architecture of the ship" and could not be changed - whatever that means. We will not book an aft on 7 or 8 on this class of ship again.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

We were married here so always a favorite. There is a Hertz rental car building right at the Havensight pier. We always rent a jeep and take off for the day. Just remember to STAY LEFT!
