We really enjoyed our trip around Malaysia -up and down the west then east coasts. What stood out for me.The staff were superb.Always friendly, happy eager to assist and helpful. The ship was so well presented I didnt see an inch of rust or a spot of dirt. The balcony cabins were spacious and the shower/toilet easy to use.The balcony was small but nice to sit outside and watch the world go by,I loved the fact that all around the ship were places you could stop and rest.Deckchairs, quiet rooms to read in and always warm or sheltered places to blob out.Walking around the ship was good exercise too. The food was better than expected.Plenty of variety and the free restaurants were fine for everyday meals,We had to queue at times but the service and speed was impressive. On the first day there was a scramble for the afternoon tea but people didnt know that the supplies were being replenished non stop. Remember to use the bar tab.We worked on it but still had a fair amount left over.It applies to drinks from the bar so its ok to order doubles . The entertainment was pretty good.the shows each night quite funny and the staff work hard to get the crowd involved. The pool was ok.I swam every morning before the crowds arrived.it was a little too warm-not refreshing when its 30 degrees outside. The spa /health area was excellent and the facilities very pleasant. The pool that you supposedly can swim against the strong current in didnt really work which was a shame.

In terms of day trips we went on our own each time and had no problems. We were given a talk with advice on how to do that but the guy thought he was a comedian which wasnt useful. His advice on taxi fares was way out, Our advice-the Phuket stop was fun.If you want to look after yourself walk a few hundred yards and get a cab outside the gate-It will be at least half the price of those near the boat.Organise for them to drop you off and a time to be picked up.we did an elephant ride which was quite fun but the huge jewellery store was a bore.Enjoy the bartering for fake clothes, watches etc,its a good fun night.

Langkawi was ok .We mistakenly decided to get a cab into the township.Steer clear. Its boring and the shops are dull.Despite what we were told on the ship the cabs ( we caught 3) didnt use meters but the prices were ok.Again walk a short distance from the ship first. We ended up at a really nice beach nearby and spent a pleasant few hours swimming .The real highlight was Rendang Island which was just beatiful. The beach was crystal clear and we had full use of the lovely resort including a massive swimming pool.I could have stayed longer. Each stop was well planned in terms of getting off and on and even the original embarkation at Singapore was relatively painless.

Cabin Review

Good space wouldnt want a cabin without a balcony.
