Pride of America? Ha! No one was proud to be working on this ship and we certainly did not feel proud to be Americans after leaving. Our travel agent booked us our honeymoon to cruise around Hawaii on The Pride of America and I wish we had just stayed in a hotel and hopped to each island ourselves.
The first disappointment happened the very first day. We ordered a water package the first day and didn't receive it so the next day at night I called my stewardist who told me to call another person and that person told me to call another one. Then I was told I would get a call back and did not. So I went to guest services and they said it was our fault we didn't get our water because we had our "do not disturb" sign on but when I pointed out to them that it didn't even show in my account that I had purchased this (receipt in hand) they realized the bartender forgot to submit our request! And instead of giving us water then n there or comping a bottle for us we still waited in our room wondering, waiting for our water until I called again because we wanted to go to sleep. Finally received it. There were maybe 3 staff members on board who were helpful and nice all others were down right rude! There was even a manager at the Cadillac Diner who was rude to us and who even yelled across the restaurant at one of her employees. I was embarrassed for him. Everything was slow, and not slow in they wanted us to enjoy ourselves slow, but like they forgot about us slow.
One day we asked our stewardist for a beach towel because she took ours even though it was placed on our bed and she said "oh yeah i ran out so I didn't give you one." Also, and this is just a minor bummer but we only got two towel animals the whole cruise. I also look forward to that part.
