We chose this cruise because we hadn't been to Fiji on our last cruise to the South Pacific. Embarkation was a fast process. We had been to Mystery Island last year, but not Isle of Pines and were looking forward to going to those two, but Mother Nature interfered with a cyclone and we missed them. We then went to Luganville in Vanuatu instead. We went there last year and it wasn't our favourite place. After that we went to Dravuni Island and loved it there. Beautiful day in the water for a swim, etc. Next stop was Suva and we did a good tour that we had booked with Princess. We did a drive all around Suva and went to the museum. Informative tour guide. Next stop was Savusavu which was a scenic place. We just walked around there for a while, but we got so hot we went back to the ship well before lunch. Lautoka was next and we booked a tour on the wharf which was half the price of a tour booked onboard. It was very interesting and informative too. Last stop was Noumea where we have been before. We just did a walk around the shops area for a while. Luckily we did that in the morning because it was wet later. Wasn't too hot there because it was overcast.
Mostly we loved the entertainment, but we are not fans of "The Voice". We would prefer the crew show that was on later that last night of the cruise. Too late for us with an early start the next morning. We always enjoyed our evening meals in the Marquis dining room with the same group of people. We had two fantastic waiters too. There are a lot of activities that didn't interest us, but we weren't that concerned. The talks about the Second World War in the South Pacific by Bruce Petty were very interesting though. We would have no hesitation in going on this ship again.
Our cabin was ok, but it was suited more to two single beds. When the two are put together you have to climb onto the bed from the end. We can't complain because well before the cruise we opted for a price reduction and ended up with a downgraded room. When the sea was a bit rougher on some days we didn't find it any worse than the times we have been on this deck closer to midship. Convenient to the dining room and the International Cafe.
