16th birthday surprise for my daughter. This was my 15th cruise and my daughter's 10th cruise. Decided to give Carnival another try. Previously did Carnival 3 other times. All but one Carnival cruise was from the West coast which was the best of them all. This trip was horrible and very disappointing. I had an 11:30-12p check in but it seemed everyone did also. The food lines were disgustingly long ( all of the ). I almost skipped lunch. Seating to eat was worse. I managed to get to my room. The room attendant intruded on us while sleeping twice even when we stating we were sleeping. We lost hot water for 2 days in our stateroom. We were never informed of the Maintenance problem. The air conditioning throughout the ship did not work as well. We did not have spare toilet tissue. We had to call the room attendant for extra when we ran out. We went to dinner as usual but was informed of "open seating". We were NEVER informed. The annoying loud speaker announcement in the middle of night coupled with the banging door from the crew roo . It was difficult trying to get to the Pacific Dining. We had to walk through the cigarette-filled casino to eat. The smell was nauseating.
