This was our first TA cruise. 6 days at sea turned out to be 10. Porta Delgada was cancelled due to high winds, major disaster with disembarkation/embarkation in Brest (talk about walking the plank, that's what literally happened). Immigration problems in Southampton prevented passengers from disembarking until about 2.30 p.m. Captain received approval to stay until midnight but that proved useless since most places closed early. Zeebrugge was cancelled because of the layover in Southampton. Rotterdam turned out to be great and was the only port we could say we enjoyed. Of the 16 days, 13 were sea days with only 1 port of call rated a success. NCL gave each passenger a non-refundable credit, meaning you either spend it or lose it. If you spent it, they recaptured about 40% by way of gross margin.
Food, both taste and quality, were good; however variety could be much improved. Entertainment was very good. Staff has much to learn on being more friendly and sensitive to passengers' needs. Public toilets should be given more attention.
For a megaship, we were surprised at the lack of more public space. This ship was built to accommodate as many passengers as possible. Theatre needs to be larger to accomodate more people and should look more like a theatre rather than a football stadium. It needs to also look at ways of exiting people faster.
Cabin was well-kept but rather small. The balcony enough for 2 chairs and a small table.
