We chose this cruise because it was leaving New Orleans which my husband's hometown and our favorite city to visit. So this was a 2 for 1 vacation. This was his first cruise and my second. We were a little nervous about getting on the Triumph since it a major breakdown a few years ago. We watched it being pulled out of the Gulf of Mexico into the Mobile Bay (near where we lived) on the news. Overall we did enjoy the cruise but the Triumph need a major overhaul. The Triumph is extremely old. Embarkation and disembarkation went by okay, it took a little longer than anticipated but with no problems. The food on the Lido deck buffet was okay. The lines for pizza and tacos was very long. Our favorite was Guy's Burger Joint. The dining room food was okay as well, it just wasn't hot enough for me, it was rather lukewarm. Everything on the Lido deck was crammed together. The lines for tacos and the buffet seemed to run into each other. It was quite confusing. It was just too many eateries and not enough space. It was hard to even find a clean table to sit and eat. The pools were extremely small and crowded. We didn't even bother trying to get in the pools. As far as entertainment goes, we really enjoyed the live bands and solo guitarists. We really enjoyed Cozumel but Progreso not so much. We did an all-inclusive Silcer beach club excursion in Progreso and it was awful. But I guess for $40pp you get what you paid for. On the way to the beach club, the tour guide took us through rough neighborhoods because he wanted us to see all of Progreso the good and bad. I appreciate learning about other cultures but I didn't want to be scared and depressed on my vacation. The food at this beach club was cold, drinks watered down, and the band was awful. We will never do this excursion again, we did not get the luxury beach club experience which was promised at all. We might have enjoyed Progreso if we had just took a taxi downtown for shopping and the public beach.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8A

There were a lot of rust in the bathroom and chips on the vanity and other furniture. The bathroom also smelled of urine even though it was cleaned everyday. The size of the cabin was bigger than what we thought it would be. We did spring for a balcony cabin which was well worth it on this ship because it was very crowded on the outside decks except for on the 3rd deck.
