Cruised with HAL to Alaska on a 7 Day trip from Vancouver and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip seeing Alaska again. This time we visited Sitka,a picturesque town with a small harbour and lots of shops selling souvenirs and local crafts. Another place worth mentioning was the Hubbard glacier. The ship stopped very nearby, where all can take photos and marvel at the truly amazing glacier formation. The weather was superb, glorious sunshine on the pristine and white landscape and we heard the caving of the glacier from our verandah stateroom.
Food was satisfactory in all the food stations. The best food done by the chef was the roast carvery pork with the skins roasted to crispy perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed this food very much and compliments to the chef in delivering a superb roast pork.
Our Verandah stateroom was very comfortable, rather narrow at the entrance to the room, but comfortable bed with a sofa and verandah. Bathroom adequate with lovely fluffy ,white towels and Elemis bath products provided and topped up daily.
Very comfortable bed with a sofa and small verandah with comfy sun lounger and chair. TV satisfactory. Mini fridge well stocked with all types of alcohol and soft drinks. Fruits stocked up daily on requests. Ice bucket filled up daily. Rooms serviced very promptly whenever service card was in place. Room staff very polite and friendly. Liked the individual Elemis bath lotion, shower gel and shampoo in its dispenser. Plenty of hangers in the cupboards and adequate space for storing your suitcases.
