We did this cruise 4 yrs ago with Holland America out of Amsterdam. My Mother-in-law really wanted to see St. Peterburg for her 86th birthday. We chose Celebrity because we had never been to Amsterdam. The shows on Celebrity were some of the best on any cruise we have been on. The cruise director was fantastic. I felt the specialty restaurants were not worth the money. The ones we have been on with Holland America were always special and equivalent of 5-star dining. We only went to Murano and Tuscan grill on Celebrity. After paying for these restaurants they want you to pay even more for lobster or better beef. In Murano we received the same escargot and steak tartar as the main dining room.

The service in the dining room was slow. Empty dishes sitting for 15-20 minutes. My cappuccino (which cost extra) came after my dessert was finished. I should not have to pay extra for a burger at the pool. I just felt like there to many extra things to pay for. Room service selection was terrible. You had to pay extra for anything good on the menu. For me to sail Celebrity over Holland America next time, the cost per person would have to be at least $1000 less then Holland America

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 1

Cabin C1

Our cabin was excellent in size for 3 people. I really did not see a benefit to Concierge class. We did not have a separate area for getting on and off the ship in Port. We did get a shorter line for embarkation. The girl took forever to check us in due to some computer problem. It took several persons to figure it out. By the time with got on board, the dining room for Concierge class had stopped serving. I did not see any other benefits. We still had to wait in the same long line for the main dining room.
