My husband and I have taken NCL cruises from The Manhatten Cruise Terminal once a year for the past 6 years. The last 3 years we have sailed on The Breakaway and have stayed in The Haven. This year was by far the worst trip ever. Service from the Butler and the Cabin Steward was terrible. For example the cabin steward told me that I must change out my beach towels myself. When I showed him the sign in our cabin stating a different policy where he changes them out the cabin steward replied "They don't give them to me." My mother in law who also stayed in The Haven in a different cabin did not have this ongoing issue and her towels were changed out daily by her cabin steward. When I asked the Butler he stated "I don't know". There are many other examples of terrible service in The Haven-holes in the bed linens, requested ice at turndown service and was only done 50% of the time, bath linens like wash clothes not changed out. Terrible service for a $7000 cabin. In addition the common areas in the Haven were taken over by toddlers. The parents and grandparents of the toddlers were more interested in drinking mass quantities of alcoholic beverages and smoking rather than paying attention to the children. The private Haven dining room became more like a Mc Donald's play land rather than a nice dining experience. Again not my expectations after paying $7000 for a cabin. If you like extremely poor service, the sound of screaming toddlers every minute that the Haven's pool is open and flying food and more screaming from toddlers the Haven is for you. If you are a lazy parent or grandparent who loves to drink and smoke and look on as your toddlers run wild in a small space you will love the Haven.
Nice cabin layout. Nice shower and tub. Holes in bed linens.
