My wife and I recently did the Baltic Cruise, Copenhagen to Copenhagen with stops in Oslo, Warnemunde, Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki & Stockholm. Getting to the ship from the airport was a breeze with the Princess Transfer, and embarkation was very easy and fast. We had a great time. The ship was clean and felt new, but this could be as it was just in dry dock. Our cabin (mini-suite A-414) was plenty large enough with lots of storage and a really nice extended balcony. Our cabin attendant was stellar! She even arranged a bottle of distilled water and an extension cord for my CPAP machine. We took most of our meals in either the Concerto or Symphony dining rooms with the Anytime Dining option. The meals were great, the service outstanding and the atmosphere classy. We chose Anytime dining as we often like to eat at different times and with this option you can sit with different people at every meal. We didn't do any of the outdoor activities as it ws just too cold for us, but I did walk the entire ship top to bottom and took several laps around the jogging/walking track. The service on this ship was everything you would expect on a cruise ship. All the folks were very attentive and polite and professional. Getting on and off the ship was never a problem at any of the ports except St Petersburg. You definitely want to give yourself plenty of extra time to get through passport control as it takes an average of 4-7 minutes per person to get processed the first time. Coming back after the first day and then both on and off the second day only took a couple of minutes, but the first day is a killer! We did Helsinki Land and Sea from the ship but all other excursions were arranged through SPB-Tours. I would definitely take another trip on the Regal Princess!

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

Cabin A414 Mini suite with extended balcony was very nice and roomy. Plenty of storage space and enough room to not be all over each other. The extended balcony was very nice but on this trip it was a bit too cold to take full advantage of it. I did use it to get some fresh air and to get some pretty nice photos. We did take advantage of the full size tub on a couple occasions. The shower took a bit of figuring out as the top knob controlled all water glow and the bottom knob adjusted the temperature. Once we figured out the right temperature all we had to do was turn the top knob.

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

We flew from San Francisco to Copenhagen non=stop and were met at the airport by the Princess folks to escort us to the ship via a purchased transfer (well worth the cost). We did not have any time for an excursion.

Oslo

A quick but inforamative walk through the sculpture park.

Berlin

Our guide was very fun and knowledgeable. We had a great day in Berlin ending at one of the remaining sections of the Berlin Wall.

Berlin

Very intersting walk and talk through many sections of Berlin. Our guide was awesome and even the rain held off until we were on our way back to the ship.

Tallinn

Our guide was a local young lady from Tallinn who really knew her stuff! We had a great time walking and talking and learning about Old Town Tallinn as well as the newer history including the "Singing Revolution". A really neat place to visit.

St. Petersburg

Part of our 2 day tour in St. Petersburg included a driving trip around the city. Very informative and interesting. Having grown up during the cold war it was nice to be able to come and visit Russia and be amazed by the many historical places.

St. Petersburg

A very nice cruise along the Neva and some smaller canals.

Helsinki

This was one of the shorter excursions of the trip but still very nice. After riding around on a boat for a while we landed at the market square and did a little shopping and eating. Then we went to see the rock church and finished the tour with a visit to the Sibelius sculpture.

Helsinki

Open air market stalls with loads of fress fruits, vegetables, flowers, food and souvenirs.

Stockholm

What great old town! So pretty and interesting, like stepping back in time!
