I have been in a total of 17 cruises. This is my 3rd NCL. Last year I went on NCL getaway and was very very happy so i figured the new sister ship would have to be the same or better right? well very very wrong. The food was just not good. The pizza you can only find at the buffet and it was horrible. The food at the main dining rooms were just so distasteful the long waits you are forced to eat at the specialty restaurants. At the buffet you couldn't ask for a soda or a fresh squeezed orange juice from an attendant you have to walk to the bar and do the line so if you made the mistake of getting your food first, guess what its cold. The Pinchos specialty restaurant was one of the best ones. The bars were good except for the long long time you have to wait at mojitos to get one drink. There is no club at this ship, what they do is close down a open area on the 8th floor and that is your loud bang entertainment they call a club. I enjoyed haul at the moon that was one of the few nice things this ship has. Comedy clubs were not even possible to get into. My whole experience is that the ship lacks service. the ship is beautiful and with so much potential but the customer service is just not there.
Cabin Review
Mid-ship Mini-Suite with Balcony
I booked a mini suite 11184, well its the very same as a regular balcony only difference is the shower so don't waste your money on this type of cabin. The room attendant was horrible it took him 3 days to finally bring me the robe i requested the first day. wouldn't take the empty bottles or cups from the room unless you put them outside. The cabin next to mines was without shampoo in the dispenser for 2 days she said.
Port Reviews
Roatan
Roatan has been so far one of the best ports I have visited so far. Beautiful beaches. we took a taxi to Paradaise beach resort and for $20 pp you have beach chairs, umbrellas and a beautiful beach. food is very cheap and drinks are fair priced too.
Harvest Caye
Its a beautiful place but pricey. I found the drinks very high. considering you have a drink package that you paid for at the cruise ship is a little harsh on the pocket they way the have set up this island. but the place overall is very pretty clean and good to have a few hours of fun in.
Costa Maya
love love costa maya. you get off the ship and right there you have a pool with a swim up bar and food.
Cozumel
cozumel is cozumel, a lot of different options to choose from and fairly priced. we decided to take the ferry to Playa del Carmen but that has changed a lot too. 5 years ago we went and found a little paradise. This time we found a dirty beach. it seems the hotel that was build right there ruined the little paradise not even the sand is the same. I guess to many digging left the beach dirty and nothing to desire.
