We were so excited to go on this cruise and see Tortola. We have always gone on Royal Caribbean, but decided to try Norwegian. We booked a spa suite with a balcony. The room was quite spacious with a nice big shower. We had access to the thermal spa since we were in a spa suite. It was quite relaxing. This ship is beautiful. The food in the specialty restaurants is very good. The island & excursions were fantastic. So now the reason for the poor rating. There were WAY too many children on this cruise. I seriously thought I was on Disney ship. I'm not talking 8 years and older. I'm talking 4 & under. Don't get me wrong I understand the "family vacation" idea. I just don't think a cruise ship is a great choice for toddlers & infants. We were on the 15th floor under the pool deck. We couldn't hear people or music during the evening. However every morning @ 4am they hosed down the deck with what sounded like a fire hose and drug the lounge chairs in place. Speaking of the lounge chairs. Good luck trying to get one. Unless of course you're one of those chair hogs that puts your towel & flip flops on them to reserve it while you go for lunch, to the gym or wherever else they went instead of sitting in the reserved chair. Thank heavens we could go to the spa pool. I mentioned we had a balcony. We didn't get to use that much either, because the people beside us used theirs as a smoking lounge. I normally don't write negative reviews, but I don't want anyone else to spend this kind of money only to be disappointed. I was really excited to go, but sadly couldn't wait to escape the escape.
