What I like to do on a cruise: I don't drink, gamble or am interested in speciality dining. I don't like to lay in the sun but like a dip in the pool and to spend an hour or two reading in the shade. I Iike to see as much of the entertainment as possible and take part in activities. I found Britannia to be a bit too large to enable me to do this comfortably. For instance, I went to a show in the Headliners theatre on deck 6 and straight onto the buffet on deck 16. 900 people all coming out of the theatre and trying to get in the lifts. I walked along to the next lifts midships but they had also filled up and there are no midships stairs. Tried to get along the ship but was unable due to the restaurants blocking my way, so just had to wait for the lifts. But if there were stairs, I don't think many people would be willing, let alone able, to manage to walk up 9 floors. However, the plus sides….

Britannia handles rough seas with ease. I didn’t feel seasick at all in 12 days and everything is clean and in good condition.

The Horizon buffet is very large and busy but has handwashing stations at each entrance which is an improvement on most other ships. Read more
