Just got back from a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Allure of the Seas. The cruise was wonderful from the point of embarkation until debarkation. Having cruised 6 times on Carnival(this was our first Royal Caribbean cruise), our expectations were far exceeded. Embarkation from arrival at the port until we were on the ship was roughly 20 minutes. We had a balcony cabin overlooking the Boardwalk and the cabin was big enough for the two of us. We were travelling with two other couples and the cabin steward was kind enough to open the adjacent balcony doors (and had this accomplished within 10 minutes of our arrival at the cabin)! Windjammer was great-so many different types of food, it was difficult to choose! Anyone that goes hungry on these ships needs to have their heads examined lol The staff, from the bars to the dining rooms, was professional and friendly.

Really, the only complaint I have about the entire cruise was the rudeness of certain people. These people cared nothing of others, ignored everyone around them and were outright rude. They monopolized so many venues and, because they didn't speak (or understand) English apparently, they talked amongst themselves LOUDLY!! in all of the entertainment venues. I'm not prejudiced or racist, but if this is the "culture" in which they live, they can have it. Those of you that have cruised will know what I'm talking about and will, most likely, agree! I have to hand it to Royal Caribbean though. We saw Mama Mia (OMG, so wonderful) and OceanAria at the Aqua Theater and these were both so well done!! Bravo! We've got another cruise booked already on Navigator of the Seas because we want to experience a mid-class ship (this one has roughly 1/2 the passenger capacity of the Allure). It was a great week and we are so pleased with how well we were treated. Great job, Royal Caribbean!!

Boardwalk View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin B2

Cabin was more than adequate for two people. The hot water in the shower was instantaneous. There were plenty of cubbies and drawers for clothing, etc. Closet was adequate for our needs. Because it overlooked the Boardwalk, it was certainly noisy but nothing we didn't expect. With the door shut, there was no sound coming through at all.
