I've been wanting to cruise for a long time. The opportunity to take this Norwegian Sky cruise to Cuba came along and I said "yes!" And, I was not disappointed. From the moment I walked onto the beautiful ship, I was pampered, cared for and entertained. The crew members were beyond kind, helpful and plentiful. I traveled with my sister and we had a fabulous time. We enjoyed eating at the dining room for most of our meals - the white table clothes, stellar service, and fine food were a treat. I am gluten free and the menu in the dining room had noted GF on their menu. The buffets have a lot of options so GF people will find plenty of food.
I learned the Sky is the oldest, smallest of the Norwegian ships. The only drawback I could see was the smaller swimming pool. Other than that, we learned from other passengers that this ship has the best service available - 2,000 passengers; 900 crew members.
The Sky has free alcohol. Many mojitos were being served at the mojito bars. I am not a drinker so had virgin strawberry marguaritas - YUM!
The beds are older. We had to ask for egg crate type topping for the beds which really helped. We had plenty of hangers, storage space and the tiny bathroom was well laid out. A very comfortable room, even had a desk with drawers. Our room server kept our room tidy and was very helpful.
Miami port was easy to navigate in. Very helpful staff all around.
Beautiful white sand beach, aquamarine colored water, rows of beach chairs. Free BBQ lunch in the pavilion. Note: Seagulls are everywhere and looking for free food - My hamburger was snatched from my plate! The souvenir stands were mediocre and quite expensive.
