We are Royal Carrabean cruisers and first time with Princess. One of a few cruises that included Rhodes in their itenerary. We spent 3 weeks on board. The ship is intended for the Chinese market. That is fair enough, BUT doing a Mediterranean cruise, we expected a bit of the local cuisine as most on board at least over 2000 we're from US, Canada, Australia and UK. Chinese were not the majority on this cruise, They didn't even offer FETA cheese when the majority of the 3 weeks was spent in Greece.

FOOD. Not very good. Sit down quality was awful. The buffet was slightly better but the lay out very confusing. THE WATERMELON was SLIMEY and off for the first 2 weeks of the cruise it improved on the 3rd.

STAFF. First 5 minutes on board encountered the most rudest staff on board. People were pressing their floor numbers in the lift and she went ballistic at 10 paying passengers. Not a good start. We accidentally left my husbands jacket with subscription sunglasses (worth $600) at the disco very first night. Went back to collect and it had gone missing. Went to enquirer counter where they confirmed it was not handed in. When we mentioned that if it was not handed in that it was then stolen! The staff member then said it was our fault for leaving it behind. So be aware people it's FINDERS KEEPERS on board. Kudos to Tony Keay though for at least getting his staff to look for it

Port Reviews

Mykonos

Beautiful town. Found great little food place where we got two Hiroshima, two drinks and a Greek salad for €14.50. Sometime it pays to bypass expensive restaurants at tourist touts and go slightly further in.

Taormina (Messina)

The village itself is spectacular but over crowded. Guide only knew "Google English" we kept asking each other what did she say. Traffic from Taormina was horrible we were standing still for most of the time.

Katakolon (Olympia)

Most disappointing of all tours that we've booked on shore. The old Olympic village itself is impressive enough bit the track is not worth going to see there is nothing to see. If you want to see a track that was built around the same time, Rhodes island has exactly the same track except it is in perfect Knicks with seating and fencing.

Naples

The Amalfi coast is incredible I would highly recommend this but make sure you sit on the righ hand side of the bus. Unfortunately we were on the left and could not take too many good photos.

Athens (Piraeus)

I did not like Pireus and Athens that much but the Parthenon, Acropolis was more then what I anticipated. Highly recommend people do go and see.

Athens (Piraeus)

Lovely temple similar to Lyndos in Greece but without the lovely beach that Lyndos has.
