Wanted to see Jewish interest in Germany. And spend extra time in Amsterdam. On the whole the ship was very nice with good food and excellent service! What. Spoilt it was a foul stench in the cabins for most of the time! Even the captain- who was nowhere to be seen for most of the trip- complained that his cabin also was reeked with a terrible smell ! Throughout the cruise people complained all the time and were told that the problem was being attended to but were later told that the relevant personnel could not sort out the problem! Also the cruise director was no help at all in fact was singularily unhelpful in most respects. She made no effort to contact any synagogues we wished to visit and one of the guides did this for us! She lacked any charm or warmth and, of 4 river cruises I have been on, she was by far the worst cruise cor!
