We have been with Scenic before and knew how good they were. Previously we went on Scenic Jade which is one of their new Spaceships, the Scenic Sapphire was a older ship that has just been refurbished to the same very high standard though the bathrooms are smaller and the balconies do not fully open up into you cabin. But the rooms are still excellent, lots of storage and the beds are large and very comfortable. The food and drinks are all exclusive and we walked off the ship without spending another penny so although the inial cost sounds a little high compared to other cruise lines it well worth the extra money., as all exclusive means all inclusive on this ship. The trips were extremely well organised with a wide range of activities. They were all morning trips with free time in the afternoon. Perhaps it would have been better if there was a choice to enjoy an afternoon excursion to give you the chance of a lay in as they mostly started at 8:30. The advantage of this was we were first there before places got too busy and hot. It was May and not the middle of the summer so I expect in the height of summer it would be very uncomfortable later in the day. Overall it was an excellent trip but the Rhone is not as scenic as the Danube and Rhine.
