  3. Norwegian Getaway
First time cruising for my family. We were a party of seven with three kids and grand parents. We all loved it! The boat is really fun. You wont be bored. Heaps of entertainment and things to do. Food was good. We only did the included dining options. All three main dining rooms offer the same menu on any given day. Would be nice if there was a bit more choice. Had the drinks package which was good. I think most people have the drinks package which means bar staff are over worked and often not very friendly. I actually felt sorry for them. Some of them were extremely rude. Come on Norwegian employ more bar staff. Had the Wi-Fi package. Waste of time. Did not work for us on I-phone, Samsung or Huawei phones. From New Zealand but don't think you can blame that as heard others complaining as well. Norwegian don't care though. No refund or any compensation offered even though we literally could not use the WiFi. Even the Norwegian staff could not get our phones to log in. Disappointing so don't waste your money here. We had an inside cabin which was adequate. We only ever slept there. Lots of storage space. Pools were small. Kids pool disappointing and my 10 and 11 years olds didn't like having to share the bathtub sized pool with toodlers. They therefore made the most of the waterslides. We enjoyed our port stops. Just made the most of the Caribbean beaches and did the Mayan ruins trip in Costa Maya. We just booked tour ourselves when we arrived at the port with a local company. Much cheaper than booking via the ship. Went with Toucan Tours and really enjoyed it. They even took us to the beach afterwards and then back to the boat. Great service. Harvest Caye was OK. Nice pool. Water warm but murky. Not as nice as the other beaches you go to. Would be nice if they offered a buffet here included in your fare. Would save having to go back to the boat.

Loads of Fun

Cabin Review

Family Inside Stateroom
Cabin I1 12479
Got what we paid for. Had four people in the room. Plenty of room for our luggage. Nice dark, quiet room so slept well. Would recommend for a family if all you do is sleep in your room like we did. Who wants to be in their room when there is so much fun stuff to do.

Hoped off boat and walked to Toucan Tour office to book the tour to the ruins. Enjoyed by all of us ages 65 to 9. It was really impressive and informative. Lots of trees there too for shade so didnt get too hot. Tour then dropped us back at the ship or

Got a taxi from the port (they are set rates) and went to Corona Beach Club. Nothing flash here but great snorkelling. Easy to get into the water for kids and grandparents alike. We just ordered some food so did not have to pay the $5 per person to be at the club. They ordered a taxi for us to take us backThen had a look around the town. Lots of tourist stuff to buy if you are into that.

Nice pool. Heaps of chairs on the beach. Beach OK but not clear
Went to aviary and butterfly enclosure. Not much to see here really. Still it was a walk. About 5-10 mins to walk back to boat so you could go back on for lunch. They should serve a lunch buffet at the port for free.

We spent 2 days in Miami after our cruise. Would really recommend the bus tour that includes the millionaire row cruise. Good fun and easily done in a day. Stayed at South Beach which was nice but you could stay anywhere and just go to south beach on the bus tour for a swim and look around.

Just walked out the port and got a taxi for seven of us ($50 return) to West Bay. Driver sat with our gear all day long while we snorkelled. We didnt pay to go on the beach just put our gear down on the sand. They tried to tell us you had to pay but you dont. Its a free beach. You only need to pay if using a resorts chairs and umbrellas. We were in the water all day so no need for that. Snorkelling was good but not fantastic. Got murky in the afternoon. Was safe for kids and we saw plenty. A good day out.
