We cruise often and this is our first cruise with Royal Caribbean and Grandeur of the Seas is an old ship and it looked it....very disappointed in the embarking process. We arrived in airport for which we paid for transfer to ship . The person never arrived we had to phone travel agent in Ct. she phoned and then rep. arrived. Now we waited about an hour for the van to arrive..once it arrived and we got to the ship they put all of us people in a holding place til 1 pm.....we arrived at 9 am and waited til 1 pm to get in stateroom and to go get something to eat...it was a nightmare...tho they did allow their platinum members inside a room to eat and drink while we all sat for hours, only to go to a vending machine. The whole ship sat and waited til 1pm. Then we go to our mildew smelling cabin, turned on faucet to wash hands water was spewing everywhere from faucet on mirror and floor. Phoned the desk reported the incident. The mold smell concerned me due to the fact as i explained to them i have asthma and highly allergic to mold. The cabin was freezing and thermostat did not work...I went in the hall to warm up. The steward came and washed the walls down with bleach f or which i could not stay in room whiie he was cleaning to get the mildew smell out. The drill began for everyone to line up outside in the misty cold 50's degrees out for about an hour while we all waited for everyone to show up To say the least it was not a good first time experience at all as it was a five day trip and the last two days i spent in bed with a terrible cold. Compliments to the chef the food was very good....shows were good...entertainment was good as well.
