Nice ship.
The Ocean View deck 14 buffet restaurant is the best of my 6 cruise experience. The food quality, the organisation. It was so good in fact two nights we did not use the main dining room.
Activities less well organised and of a lower quality than Royal Caribbean International.
The sofa was too long such that getting to the front of the wardrobe was tricky.
We would have preferred more drawers rather than a mini bar fridge.
There was however storage on open up long cupboards above the bed. Its just you have to lean over the bed to get at anything.
A basic port with shops. Quite a few souvenir shops.
It seemed like the only people walking around were from the ship.
Got the expensive shuttle at 14.00 USD each into the center. Maybe a Taxi would have been a better value option.
Went to the Whiskey Museum for 17 EUR each. Its righ next door to Tourist information which is on the little maps they hand out at the port.
The Museum is on the history or Irish Whiskey making. It is a great factual and funny moments guided tour and includes a tasting of 3 different whiskeys with comments on how they are different.
The trains station is right there on the port. Easy to get to Cork.
However we went on a train for 6.00 EUR each return for 3 stops to a place called Fota. There is a Zoo at 16 EUR each admission right near the station.
Great cheap day out.
Crumlin Road Gaol. A prision from the victorian times that closed in 1996. Guided tour for about 10.00 GBP.
We got off the ship and queued at the taxi rank organised on shore. The taxi for the ship to the Gaol was 7.00 GBP.
The Celebrity X ship wanted 14 USD per person shuttle service top town center.
