Had to cancel our World cruise in August due to unexpected ill health. End of November all was ok but not able to rebook as no vacancies. Found this cruise and they had unsold cabins, decided to try them. Balcony cabins available but they allow smoking on them which we did not like. There was available a terrace cabin so after talking directly with Head Office were reassured it was one of their new cabins. So booked in December.
Embarkation went fine. and we were shown to our cabin. Not what we were used to, but very basic. Still we made the best of it. Went to main dining room first night glad we were in the small side room as restaurant very noise. Nice people but told them we liked to eat in buffet more flexible. Joined them on formal nights. Liked Buffet very much small and quiet. Food very good and very varied. Staff very friendly. Ship is old and maintenance went on daily. sometimes very annoying. On the whole enjoyed the cruise but only because of the friendly people on board. The organisation was dreadful. Ran out of things, New digital TVs which did not work till nearly home. Silly things but very annoying. never had this on any other cruise line.
needs upgrading badly. Iron bed frames bigger than mattress. kept banging my legs and bleeding. they put some foam and tape to help??? Wash basin cracked. Mismatch of furniture Fridge stuck in a cupboard and kept falling out when opening the door.
been many times so just enjoyed the walk along the front. Great hop on bus.
again been many times. Be careful once in on a Sunday and two passengers were shot in the legs and had to remain in hospital Locals told us there are no police working on Sundays. Just walked to marina and had a drink. If first time take an island tour.
picked up a great tour at the port . Local company. enjoyed it very much.
nice port, again been many times. In the port, There is a local tour bus which we have done and is very good. Also have taken a local bus to second largest town called St. Nicholas and Charlies Bar.This time just walked around.Bus station opposite the port. You buy your tickets from the Kiosk.

loads to do, Hop on bus. if first time, see eveything. or ferry to Devonport and ferry to Waiheke. Ferry do trips.
nice little port, short walk into town .Ships do excursions to many places. all great, We toured N.Z so have been .
first visit shuttle into town then cable car and small hop on bus tour. Easy to do museums on your own.
at the port small local bus very cheap. not much to see, Coles supermarket for supplies.
love Sydney, been so many times. Unfortunately on this cruise had a rubbish place to dock. Long walk to pick up a ferry boat over to the otherside, stopped early so you would have to take a taxi back?Usually with other cruise lines, right in Circular Quay,so just walk off ship.Great hop on buses. Great hop on ferries. Great transport. Big city but love it So DO .Research to find what you like.Opera House looks lovely but inside disappointing
Friends took us out. Again there is a hop on bus, which is good.
again been before. some great places on excursions to visit. Loved the flight, proberly could have booked privately cheaper as they pick you up etc.
booked private tour, but check reviews are recent. Paid for whole day for two.
as been before, can recommend local transport. about 4/5 different hop on loops for one price. spend the day at Gardens on the Bay, get taxi there. or the zoo. No need for ship excursion
