To begin with the positive:

We had a wonderful dining room team, Orlin, Bruno, Michael and Marie. Because they took such excellent care of us, we requested their table for every meal. Even when they had to work unscheduled hours because of a change in itinerary, they remained the upbeat, efficient and knowledgeable team we got to know. I commend them strongly for being a highlight in an otherwise disappointing cruise.

On the day of embarkation we treated ourselves to a bamboo, hot stone, and hot oil massage. Adelheid and Thilda did a wonderful job and we felt thoroughly relaxed and ready for a great cruise.

Cabin 6E

The state of our cabin (R185) was deplorable. Not only was it so poorly configured that the only chair that fit was a wooden, upright one, too uncomfortable to sit on, but it also showed signs of poor maintenance: The shelf in the bathroom was not cleaned; the toilet was severely stained and looked nasty; the bathroom door frame showed age-old spills; the curtain was off-track at one end; and the light over the desk flickered all night although it was turned off. Housekeeping and maintenance responded to our requests. The electrical problem was solved but cleanliness improved only slightly.

The towels were dingy and had holes. We requested exchange of the pool towels, which had long threads escaping from the weave.

The toilet paper was so thin that I could see the pattern of my suitcase through it. Also, it was single ply although the roll read “double layer.” It was basically useless and I was glad I had the foresight of packing wet wipes.

The bathroom wall had a circular crack, approximately 4 inches long, as though someone tried to put a fist through it. Considering the tiny dimensions of the bath and room in general, I'm not surprised.
