We chose this cruise to see as much of Hawaii as possible. After doing a lot of research, and with the ship just having a facelift we thought Pride of America was the cruise for us. We booked a balcony cabin and were not disappointed. The extra room and view was well worth the additional cost. (However, we thought the overall cost of the cruise was very expensive compared to other cruises.) The Cabin Attendant was excellent. He paid a lot of attention to detail. The room was always clean. The food and entertainment was average, but we didn't have high expectations because the excursions were our focus. We went to Pearl Harbor, took a tour of Honolulu/Waikiki, booked the Road to Hana, Volcano National Park, shopped Lahaina, had a leisurely day in Kona and Kauai, and attended the luau. The islands are breathtaking. The drinks are expensive because of not offering a beverage package. My husband had to see the ship's doctor and he was very good, providing the appropriate treatment. I wouldn't say I'd do it again unless I won the lottery as this was on my bucket list. Once provided a lifetime of memories.
This was our first time in a balcony cabin and we enjoyed it very much. The cabin was on the port side which allowed us to view the shore. The cabin steward was excellent by being very attentive to detail.
