Last year we did the Reflection June 17 Mediterranean sailing. The ship was beautiful and our cabin was great (Standard Balcony on the Hump). But i wrote a review on some of the obstacles we encountered and never heard back; i did the Silhouette out of FTL for New Years Eve; and again sent a review and no feedback. It seems pointless to ask for reviews by Celebrity but not to get back any response from them is unnerving. We did the Transatlantic Sailing on 4/22 again we had a Standard Balcony on the 6th floor with a Hump Balcony; no complaints on the location and room. More on that later. We had rough seas the last couple of days before reaching Tenerife; and even though my husband and i do not get seasick; there were a couple of folks that had a rough time. At dinner one night waves were hitting our window; i don't think the captain put the stabilizers. I have done 2 prior TA's and the one before on the Connie; which was a smaller ship and the ocean was always as smooth as a plate.

Port of calls were wonderful since we had not been to any of them except Barcelona and Rome; but we disembarked in Livorno to roam around Italy and France. Once again i feel that the cruise lines are nickel and diming us all; there was a special to buy the Beverage package about a month prior to the cruise; first time ever on a TA! but we do not drink enough to merit the amount charged...all in all since we are Elite we spent around $800 for both of us on the whole trip. Talking about Elite; i must say that it is embarrassing the way they go about giving their "free drinks" to us. First of all you have to go at a predetermined time (4-7) 2 bars only. The liquor offered is the cheapest available and the drinks are just bad! We used our coupons mostly on bottled water and went to the martini bar and bought our own drinks! It is a shame that the cruise lines don't take into consideration the amount of money one spends on cruising to reach a certain level to be treated so lowly that you have to have coupons and go at a special time to drink. If they are going to limit the drinks to 3 a piece why not put it on your card and let you drink them whenever you want! Just saying!! The other perks are good; breakfast at the Tuscan Grill (again nothing to brag about - pastries, cold cuts and the best part specialty coffee) We also made use of the laundry service which is great when you are on such a lengthy cruise and are trying to limit your suitcase size!!

Speaking of Drinks..they keep raising the prices to push people into buying the beverage package..again a shame for a cruise line like Celebrity. I think people are willing to pay a little bit more to go on this class ship and not feel like they are on Carnival or a party cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 1A

Cabin 1A

Our cabin was perfect! Close to the elevators and a terrific Balcony. Our attendant Akeelash was awesome! Make sure we had everything we needed. They don't put an ice bucket in the room but will bring one on request. He also brought us a large ice bucket to keep our wine chilled!

Port Reviews

Miami

Quick embarkation.

Cartagena (Spain)

We did the museum and the Roman Theater and walked the city on our own. Had a nice lunch and headed back to the ship.

Villefranche

Had a rainy day; tender was not operating early due to weather. Came back early due to rain.

Florence (Livorno)

We disembarked here and went to Pisa to see the Tower and continued to La Spezia to Cinque Terre on our own.
