We chose the Caribbean Princess European capitals cruise because of the great itinerary. We really enjoyed all the ports of call. It is worth taking this cruise for the excellent itinerary.

This was the second cruise after the Caribbean Princess had come out of a major refit. The refit was not completed in drydock and we were surprised to see workers installing new carpet in many public areas later in the evening. The areas that had been refitted looked fresh and modern. But, there are still many areas of the ship that are showing their age.

We enjoyed the evening entertainment, some of the cruise directors staff shows were excellent. Our only disappointment was that many nights we had to choose between seeing the showroom entertainment or the cruise directors shows - hopefully, the cruise directors staff get this glitch fixed.

Port Reviews

Southampton

Great port, worth spending a day here exploring the museum and the old city walls. Lots of hotels very close to the pier.

St. Peter Port (Guernsey)

We only had 1/2 day here, wish we had more time. Castle Cornet is a short walk from the tender point. The castle is a must visit, they have free walking tours of the castle that share the history of the castle, and talk about what happened on the island during the occupation.

Cobh (Cork)

We took a Paddywagon tour to see Blarney Castle, have the price of the Princess tour, an excellent tour guide, and very good value.

Dublin

We took a tour out of the city to see the countryside on Paddy Wagon - we had a great day, 1/2 the price of the same Princess package.

Hamburg

We took the ships shuttle into town and walked the town. Some interesting old buildings in the warehouse district that are well worth having a look at

Rotterdam

Visited the historic area of Delftshaven, very interesting, wish we had more time. The Windmills were amazing to see - the tour was not cheap, but worth the money.

Brugge (Bruges)

Tour visited the Flanders museum and monuments in the morning, and then the afternoon at Brugge. If you are interested in the 1st world war history and seeing a wonderful old building, this is the tour for you.
