Sail Date: May 2017

My husband and I chose this sailing due to the itinerary, covering major Scandinavia cities and St. Petersburg. We flew into Copenhagen 2 days before sailing to explore the palaces and museums. Embarkation took close to 45 minutes, although my husband and I chose to disembark independently, which we deemed to be a wise decision, as we had chosen to take public transit to the Copenhagen Airport to fly home.

The amenities were not extensive, nor were the activities offered aboard, but, we had anticipated this, due to the size and age of the Serenade of the Seas. We took advantage of the discount offered on Specialty Dining on the first and second evening of the cruise, and the experience was satisfactory. Days #3 through #8 we dined in the Main dining Room (Reflections), the service was professional, although the food was less than satisfactory due to the limited selection. The steaks that we had ordered were all cooked to our desired level of doneness, which was commendable. Only 2 out of the 10 nightly entertainment were memorable. We paid for a balcony stateroom and our cabin attendant did a swell job. All crew members aboard the ship were courteous and cheerful. Our final port, Klaipéda, had likely "paid" Royal Caribbean to get on the list of destinations, as it was a small town with hardly any interesting sights, except for those who had paid for a RC excursion, and were taken to an amber processing centre.
