This was our first transatlantic cruise and we were apprehensive about having 5 days at sea but we need not have worried, although the weather wasn't brilliant we enjoyed every moment of our cruise.
From the moment we checked in we were made to feel very welcome. Our balcony stateroom 8255 was ideally located and our stateroom attendant was superb.
The food was excellent we chose to eat on the early sitting and we were on a table of 8. Our waiters were really efficient, friendly and hard working. We ate twice in speciality restaurants - Tuscan grille and Murano and were impressed by both.
Excellent location on deck 8 near to the elevators (on the bump) port side. Very well presented and well serviced by our state room attendant who was quietly efficient. Very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Wardrobe/drawer space slightly restricted for a 13 night cruise especially as we had a 5 night stay in America prior to boarding the ship so we had to keep some of our clothes under the bed in our suitcases!
Stayed in Miami 2 days prior to cruise. Our hotel Miami Beach resort and spa was dated but clean and comfortable and although was located far end of Collins ave there's was complimentary tram buses every 10 mins to take you to town. Great weather, beaches and shopping
Plenty of shopping in town as soon as you dock. Didn't take an excursion so didn't see a great deal of the island but found the staff in local shops friendly and not pushy!
Overnight in Bermuda did not take excursion as we were lucky enough to have a friend living there who kindly took us around the island. Loved it, friendly locals everywhere we went. Visited spectacular beaches at Horse shoe bay and Elbow beach. Visited st George's which was very historic and quaint. Had our photographs taken the the stocks! We met with the former mayor who is now promoting tourism, very interesting character. Lunch at Swizzle inn (motto - swizzle in stagger out!) great food and cocktails. The island was buzzing due to the arrival of the America cup and it was a lovely time to visit.
As always docked close enough to walk into town from the ship. Was nice to go ashore after 5 days at sea. Had visited Lisbon previously and done all the tourist attractions, so we just strolled into town for a little shopping, weather wasn't too good
