Still a Princess fan at heart and there was much to enjoy on this cruise but with certain notable exceptions ,I feel that the overall experience was not quite as good as in the past. The good International cafe was our favoured venue for breakfast, The team that work this venue were simply outstanding in every respect and made the experience something to look forward to. Even at busy times they remained efficient, effective and helpful. We've never had a bad cabin steward and yet again we were not disappointed' Free shuttles at Le Verdon (into Soulac Sur Mer) and Bilbao were most welcome. Phillip Browne on the final night was very entertaining. Magic To Do was a welcome change from the usual production company show. Port adviser a great source of information for the independent traveller. Food at Lunch and Dinner varied from the good to excellent. Embarkation and disembarkation flawless. Slipping First morning Bing Bong Calls on the PA in the cabin at 6.10am, 6.30am and 6.45am well timed to wake me up three times!!! Photographers at the end of the gangway a menace. Price of Ship's Tours excessive. Tables for two with one 'chair' a sofa not very comfortable. Wine tasting pretentious twaddle. Wines cheap and in some cases nasty. Ridiculously overpriced. $45 for a Chilean Shiraz I'd bought the previous week in Sainsbury's for less than $10 was the 'best wine'. Climate change denial concerning. Upsell even when eating Dinner. Waiters appeared less organised and more rushed than usual. Enrichment minimal. Too long a wait, at peak times, to get back on the ship after a port of call. Would I go again? Maybe given the right itinerary.

The Crown slips a little.

Cabin Review

Balcony
Cabin BB
Well looked after by excellent and friendly cabin steward, Cabin well appointed and reasonably quiet so had a good night's sleep every night. However, although everything was there and working, carpet rather worn and balcony rusty ; fixtures and fittings looked a little past their best.
