Crown Princess Cruise Review by southampton observer
- Sail Date: May 2017
- Destination: British Isles & Western Europe
- Cabin Type: Balcony
International cafe was our favoured venue for breakfast, The team that work this venue were simply outstanding in every respect and made the experience something to look forward to. Even at busy times they remained efficient, effective and helpful.
We've never had a bad cabin steward and yet again we were not disappointed'
Free shuttles at Le Verdon (into Soulac Sur Mer) and Bilbao were most welcome.
Phillip Browne on the final night was very entertaining.
Magic To Do was a welcome change from the usual production company show.
Port adviser a great source of information for the independent traveller.
Food at Lunch and Dinner varied from the good to excellent.
Embarkation and disembarkation flawless.
First morning Bing Bong Calls on the PA in the cabin at 6.10am, 6.30am and 6.45am well timed to wake me up three times!!!
Photographers at the end of the gangway a menace.
Price of Ship's Tours excessive.
Tables for two with one 'chair' a sofa not very comfortable.
Wine tasting pretentious twaddle. Wines cheap and in some cases nasty. Ridiculously overpriced. $45 for a Chilean Shiraz I'd bought the previous week in Sainsbury's for less than $10 was the 'best wine'. Climate change denial concerning.
Upsell even when eating Dinner.
Waiters appeared less organised and more rushed than usual.
Too long a wait, at peak times, to get back on the ship after a port of call.
Would I go again? Maybe given the right itinerary.

BilbaoDespite free shuttle left early and took metro into Bilbao in order to get to Guggenheim before it opened and to make the best of a beautiful day. Local transport cheap and quick and the 20min walk to the station was also most interesting. Great day.View All 115 Bilbao Cruise Port Reviews
