My family has been on 10 cruises. This is one of the better ones.
Embarkation was good. We received an email from Royal Caribbean a couple of days before the departure date that they would have a Coast Guard inspection that morning and guests should arrive a little later, after 12 PM. Normally we would aim to arrive at around 10. We flew in the day before and stayed at Springhill Suits (free shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and free shuttle from the hotel to the cruiseport). We followed the cruise line instruction and arrived at the cruise port by 12. Lots of people in line, but things were moving quite fast and we were on the boat exactly at 1 PM. We were able to get into our cabin at 1:30.
Following the advices I got from this board, I had done the sports waivers ahead of time, and went straight to Zipline after dropping off the bags. There was no line at Zipline and my kids and I were able to do it over and over again for about 10 times. To be honest, it wasn't a very impressive Zipline, so after half an hour and 10 times, we had enough, and never felt the desire to do it again during the week. So I guess that was a good advice to do it while there was no line. While on board, we also did rock climbing and flow rider and ice skating. It's great to have all these activities to occupy the active adults and kids in our group -- I think that really contributed to the satisfaction.
One of the smallest cabins I have stayed in over all the cruises. I have been in Inside Cabins that are bigger than this Balcony cabin. Also, terrible design with the bed being less than 1 ft away from the closet.
This particular cabin is nicely located and very quiet.
Large port experienced at moving large number of guests through at a good speed.
We were the only ship docked at Labadee, but it was still very crowded, even at Columbus Cove, which was at the farthest end of the peninsula. The Aqua Park costs $20 per person for 1 hour. Pretty steep even for cruise ship excursions.
