The boarding process was the worst seen to date. We were on this very same cruise last year and the boarding process went well. We remembered none of the total kayos of this trip. What happened? It’s obvious the scheduled boarding times mean nothing. I believe all the passengers were there at 1100 ready to go along with all the passengers from another company were there as well. The lines were long and very slow. There were no specific areas for Special Needs people to wait and get out of the way of the thundering herd of passengers. If this is any indication of the new and improved Carnival boarding procedures then we may need to rethink our preferred Cruise line.

We were extremely displeased that NONE of the items requested through the Special Needs section ever made it to the cabin until the 2nd day of the cruise. And that was only after calls to Guest Services. We’ve never had a Special Needs issue until this cruise. What is the purpose of going through the time and paperwork to get things coordinated and planned only to have Ship’s staff not do anything?? It’s not rocket science to get a shower chair and a “Lanset” Box to the cabin is it? An extension cord had always been provided on previous cruises as well to support the CPAP machines but it NEVER showed up. Luckily, we always carried our own and used it.

We were extremely disappointed with the ship’s Bar Management. We have never been on ANY ship that ran out of multiple beers, soda’s, and bar stock. On day two of the cruise we ran out of 16 ounce Bud Light bottles and Bud light draft. The Bud Light 16 ounce bottles were replaced with 12-ounce cans. That is a loss of 4 ounces per drink for those of us on the Cheers package, which results with the loss of one can for every 3 consumed. Carnival really makes out on that deal.

Cabin Review

Extended Balcony

Cabin 8K

Cabin was nice but a little worn. One bedside lamp did not work and one bulb in the dressing table light was burned out. The button to flush the toilet sometime worked and sometime didn't. The cabin was very quiet and off the beaten path of hallway traffic. The balcony was well used when visiting Tracy Arm & Glacier Bay. Best sure to get a port side cabin on the Alaskan trips. While they do swing the boat around, it always seems to be a longer viewing time on the port side.
