Embarking in New Orleans was a bit slow but certainly organized. We had to sit for almost an hour before boarding started. I was in the Platinum group so I checked in around 10 am and was not on board until noon.
The ship could use a major facelift. It was old. My balcony was rusty and unkepted. I was in an Ocean Suite.
Dining was good. My servers Paul, Roberto and Jose were very attentive. The food was also good. No complaints.
The service I received from my cabin steward Tina, was also very good. She took care of my cabin 2x a day and I always had the next day's itinerary early enough to do the appropriate planning.
As far as the ports, I loved Key West. It has been many years since I have visited Key West. I am not sure why Carnival is stopping in Freeport. Freeport hasn't rebound from the hurricane in 2016 and it shows. Everything was closed down. Don't waste your time going to Port Lucaya.
Nassau definitely lived up to our expectations. We stayed at the Atlantis for the day and it was beautiful and a lot of fun. AquaAdventure was so much fun.
My favorite folks that worked on Carnival Dream were:
Cabin Steward: Tina
Bartender: Ufuk (that was his name)
Casino Dealer(s): Jonathan and Antanas
Waiters: Paul, Roberto, Jose
Relatively good shape but the balcony and chairs were extremely old.
Everything was closed down due to the hurricane in 2016. No excuse though for the pitiful looking areas.
