We booked this transatlantic cruise from Miami because we needed the rest before getting to Europe. Easy check in on the arrival in Miami Port. We sure had a relaxing time, we enjoyed the main dining room every night (we did not feel the need to try out the specialty restaurants), met lots of fellow travelers, had a great time at the shows, even though some were ok others were great. Our favourite was Mr. Bressler (pianist) very talented, the Beatles Review very well done. Elysium, did not feel a connection. Enjoyed the trivia challenges.

The crew from the officers all the way to our cabin steward were courteous and seemed to enjoy being on the ship. Our cabin a superior balcony was lovely and practical, we loved the glass shower and our comfy bed. Thanks to our cabin steward Ian, he really made this cruise perfect.

Our cruise ports were beautiful and all different, we really appreciated the 2 days in Barcelona. Loved Villefranche so quaint and pretty. Easy disembarkation in Civitavecchia. The night before the end of the cruise, we did not know if we should take our own luggage and walk off the ship or put them out the night before and hope it would not take to much time to find our luggage. We did not need to worry at all, our luggage was waiting for us in the hangar for an early taxi ride to Rome Termini. No need to worry, put out your luggage. It is an easy and quick disembarkation, as early as 07h15.

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 2B

Cabin 2B

Our cabin was near the front elevators (5 cabins down). We had a balcony which was a good size. We appreciate the glass shower and enough storage room. This was a transatlantic crossing and we had choppy seas for two days and we did not feel seasick eventhough we could certainly feel the rocking and rolling of the ship.

Port Reviews

Miami

We rented a car with Budget at the airport and dropped it off near Miami Port, they had a shuttle to the Port of Miami. Very handy and quick.

Tenerife

We made our way by taxi to "La Laguna" unfortunately it was on a Sunday and everything was closed. They had a marathon going on we enjoyed the festivities and then went to the local market and had local beer and a nearby cafe. We enjoyed the day just the same, very relaxing.

Malaga

We reserved space at freetour.com. I was really excellent and we enjoyed the tour tremenduously, very informative and fun. At the end you pay what the tour is worth to you.

We recommend them.

Cartagena (Spain)

We had a Tapas tour organized by a fellow cruiser. It was not only a Tapas tour but also a tour of the most interesting sites in Cartagena. Maria was amazing and very pationnate about her town. Muexperience.com is a must and very reasonnably prices.

Barcelona

Not our first time in Barcelona, so we just took it easy the first day, enjoyed shopping portal del Angel avenue and Cortes del Ingles store and had lunch in their cafeteria on the 9th floor which has been redone and is an excellent value with beautiful views of the city.

The next day, we booked with Freetour.com a walking tour of the old Barri Gotic area of Barcelona which was excellent and informative, we recommend this service.

Villefranche

Villefrance is a tendered port. Celebrity and the Port Authorities handled the transfers very well eventhough the seas were a bit choppy. Everything went well and we were off with another couple to Villa Ephrusi de Rothschild, a 10 minutes ride by taxi -(25E :( from Villefranche sur mer. We visited the beautiful gardens and then visited the villa with excellent taped descriptions of the different rooms. We made our way back by taking the #81 bus just outside the villa grounds. Got off at Octroi bus stop and made our way back down to the Villefranche sur mer where we had an amazing lunch before hopping on the tenders and back to our ship. Another amazing day.

Florence (Livorno)

We previously booked a bus transfer with Tuscanybus.com for a visit to Lucca (3 hour visit) and Pisa (1-hour). It was a great choice, we leisurely visited Lucca, a pedestrian Tuscany village, and then made our way to Pisa, to take those famous pix. We were 8 passengers and it was a great and beautiful day. We highly recommend Tuscanybus.com
