Since we're from New Jersey we were ecstatic to drive & park. We had received a RCCL text of possible traffic getting to the Bayonne port - which was a nice touch. However our GPS routed around the traffic, so it was a great ride.

Embarkation

Arrival at the port was a breeze especially if you check in online, print your paperwork (uploaded photo not needed) & have your RCCL luggage tags attached to your items. I even taped a luggage tap to my case of bottled water. Note RCCL official policy is not to allow bottled water but this is often not enforced. Please remember to tip these porters when you drop off your luggage. The parking garage is a few feet from the luggage drop. It's $20 per day. The initial boarding process is similar to the security line at the airport. All your items go through the scanner & nothing in your pocket. Next look for the separate check-in line if you have any status - Emerald & Platinum are together and The Diamonds are in another line. We pre-scheduled our check-in for 1 - 1:30pm. This was perfect because there were no lines for Platinum, the check-in was done in less than 5 minutes, including the picture taking for 2. Our paper Seapass form was stamped and we were on to our room.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D6

We had cabin 11572 which had the bed near the window. It is in the middle section closer to the front (forward) and near the elevators that you never hear. The cabin design is pretty great. A modern neutral palette with a splash of royal blue. Two closets filled with hangers anchor either side of the sofa. If you need more storage the desk has additional drawers and the fridge (which was empty). The bathroom was adequate for 2 people.
