We chose this cruise because of the ports, the ABC's, we had never been to before. From the start everything went smoothly, the embarkation was fast and the staff was efficient and courteous. As we were checking in after 3 PM we kept our carry-on bags and went directly to our cabin. The cabin, 7296, was clean, though dated a little, and comfortable. I like that the cooler was empty and we could put our own things inside to keep cold.

The ship has undergone a recent limited dry-dock and the public areas are fresh and updated, I understand the rest of the renovations will be completed in Jan. of 18. We found the ship to be fine in all things, one thing missing was the day placards in the elevators, but the daily compass has it listed.

This was one of the best cruises for dining we have experienced: the food was very good and plentiful, our wait staff, Ryez (in his last contract before retirement) our waiter and Marie (in her first contract) our assistant waiter were OUTSTANDING, they were personable and genuinely cared about our dining experience. It was fun to see the experience and the desire to learn mixed together. Lest I forget our head waiter, sadly I do not remember his name but I will always remember his greeting: "Good evening lovely ladies and lucky gentlemen." He was the most attentive head waiter we have ever experienced and we looked forward to his visit every evening, we even were met with his greeting one morning at breakfast.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E3

The cabin is a little worn but is still in good condition. The balcony is big enough for 2 to stretch out and enjoy the view. This cabin is on the starboard side so views of port are not available if that is important. One can still go up on deck and see the port when docked.

Port Reviews

San Juan

The Pan American port is a shipping port only, one must travel to reach tourist interests.

We stayed in San Juan 3 days post cruise and had a wonderful time

St. Maarten

This is your typical cruise port with shops and tax/duty free shops. There are plenty of taxis and a plethora of tours is one is not scheduled with the cruise line.

Aruba

Aruba seems to be working hard to create a welcome environment for cruisers, with the free trolley that takes you along the main shopping streets with plenty of stops to allow one to get off and on was welcome in the heat of the day. The straw market is easily accessible and fun. Because of the treatment of the locals we will return to this island in the future to spend more time.

Curacao

We left the port early for a private excursion and returned late so we had little to no experience of the port other than the ease and closeness of everything.

Bonaire

We picked up an excursion at the port last minute. We should have shopped around rather than jumping on the first one we came to. There are plenty to choose from so I recommend looking around first. The shopping is close and the selection is good with a good variety of things to choose from.
