  3. Celebrity Summit
We choose this particular cruise and ship because we wanted to see Bermuda. The Summit is a 91,000 ton ship with around 2,000 passengers which makes this ship less crowded and easy to get around. The ages on the ship for this cruise was 90% elderly and 10% 50 years & younger. Very few children could be due to the time of year. The taxi ride to the ship was $48 for two people and Celebrity charges $57 for 2. The taxi takes around 25 to 30 minutes to reach the ship from Newark Airport. We arrived to the cruise terminal at 10:30am and was able to check in, But they wouldn't let us go onto the ship until 11:30 am. The rooms were not ready until 1:30 pm. We had a Aqua Class room which means we could eat at the Blu Restaurant. We were surprised to see that they wanted us to come to dinner the first night from 8:00 to 8:30. We declined to do this since we don't like to eat so late. The second night we went at 6:30 and had to wait 30 min. to get a table but it was well worth the wait. The food in Blu is wonderful with an excellent wait staff. The problem is there are mostly two top tables pushed close together so you feel like you have to talk to the guest sitting so close beside you. They do have 6 top tables and sometimes they will ask if you want to share a table. We choose to sit at the two top and most nights we got the same table and waiter which was nice. On the first evening chic night they stated in the Celebrity Today paper that ALL guest were asked to follow the dress codes and that they were in effect from 5:30 pm in all restaurants and the Celebrity Theater during evening performances. It stated that no shorts and flip flops were allowed in the evening hours and they said this was as a courtesy to the guest. Of course we thought this was ridiculous and went to Guest Relations about this crazy dress code. First of all WE are the guest and WE are on vacation and should be able to walk anywhere on the ship with shorts and flip flops except for the restaurants. When we spoke to Guest Relations about this he actually said he would feel uncomfortable even going to the Casino in shorts on the Evening Chic night. We really didn't think this policy should be upheld. Usually after every dinner we change back into our shorts and walk around the ship and go to the Casino. We are on vacation! I would have to say this was our only issue. Everything was great and Captain Kate was awesome. A real people person and you would see her around the ship a lot. We looked forward to her daily announcements. Bermuda was beautiful. Easy to get around and some of the most beautiful water I have ever seen. Tickets for bus and the Ferry to Hamilton and St. George are easy to get right after you exit the ship. Very friendly people will help you with this. The Ferry to Hamilton takes about 20 mins. The Ferry to St. George takes 1 hour. But this is all by water and if you want to see some of the town then take the bus to Hamilton. It's the number 7 bus to Hamilton and takes about 20 mins. It does make stops along the way but you see the homes and coastline. We did both. The Natural Museum of Bermuda located 5 min. walk from the ship. A must see with lots of History. The Commissioner's House is located here as well and you can walk thru three floors of exhibits and have spectacular views of Bermuda. Dolphin Quest is also located on the property and you can sit and see the Dolphins. Price of admission to see all of this was $15.00 per person and you should expect to spend about 2 or 3 hours here. Bermuda has lots of water sports and beautiful beaches. Horseshoe Bay and Tobacco Bay to name a couple. We will take the Summit again and will go back to Bermuda.

Cabin Review

Aqua Class
Cabin A1 1120
We had a balcony cabin on the the 11th floor. Nice partial with coverage. This means if you want the sun it was nice but if it rains you are not able to use your balcony.
