This was our third Transatlantic cruise, and about our fifth cruise on Celebrity, which we did and do still enjoy. I'm not going to address standard things here .. just things that stood out to us.
This ship has a strange architecture in that, rather than having three sets of elevators, it only has two, spaced to divide the ship into roughly thirds. The aft part of the ship, behind the aft elevators, is only staterooms or dining venues, depending on deck. This just seemed strange. There's no continuous promenade deck ... you can walk on the boat deck, but really just the middle third between elevators.
Also, the buffet (Oceanview Cafe) is on deck 14 while the pools are on deck 12. Most ships have these adjacent, and we like to bring food out to the outdoors area on nice days. There is a small outside eating area behind the Oceanview Cafe, however.
Take a look at the deck plan. On most decks, where the cabins are pushed back in the center to accommodate the lifeboats, there are 8 cabins (2 forward and 2 aft on each side) that look out at an angle. These have balconies that are 50% larger than most. Same price. Great deal.
There is enough room in the cabin, and the bathroom is large.
Crowded and crazy, plus it rained all day with four ships embarking.
Lisbon is always fun. We went to Sintra on the train with a few couples.
One hour travel each way with three hours in Rouen. It was a 4-day weekend so very crowded. Glad we went though.
See my review of this not-so-great day. The city was amazing, but as packed as Disneyland at spring break. People who had been there before could not believe it. Again, a holiday weekend Saturday with a beer festival also going on. Bad luck.
