We chose this cruise as it fit into our schedule and believed the cruise would be fun for our 25 year old daughter due to the activities offered. The Escpae is an attractive ship, design-wise but lack any decor that makes it special. The rooms overall are fairly sized and we found he bathrooms especially roomy. In addition, we found most of the wait staff to be very friendly. The casino, personnel were also for the most part friendly , but the bar service was almost nonexistent. The officers seems to make a special effort to be aloof and rude and I witnessed no effort interact or greet passengers. The planning on embarking and debarking the ship in Miami was disorganized and overly long.

The food was a major disappointment. Breakfast s in the main dining areas was very ordinary and the bakery items taste stale and unimaginative. The pancakes that were served were cold, stale and could have been frozen. Dinner was unremarkable savethe prime rib which was better than was expected for cushier food. Vegetables did not seem fresh and were given little attention to preparation. I am sure the corn on the cob was frozen and undercooked. If it is one thing I always took for granted was the spectacular desserts that had heretofore were always works of art and plentiful--no longer. The portions were small but because they were barely edible this shortcoming was a blessing. The only dependable desserts was the ice cream though flavors were limited. The corner grocery does a better job and is definitely fresher. The buffet that is is served was a absolute embarrassment as the food reminded me of Chuky Cheese or Ryan's minus customer service. Lastly, being nickel and dimes and every turn for soda, wifi, room service"specialty dining," pinball machines and the like created an ambience of an entirely lower class experience

Cabin Review

Family Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin M2

The cabin reminded me of a Days Inn but it used space efficiently and the bathrooms were very comfortable.
