This cruise was part of an Insight Vacations package cruising 4 Greek islands and 2 destinations in Turkey. We boarded after touring Greece for 7 days and were happy to no longer have to live out of our suitcases! Both embarkation and disembarkation was extremely smooth. Throughout the week that we cruised, we lost and gained passengers at most ports. At the beginning of the cruise, the ship was not very full and we had wonderful service in the dining room. But after gaining a couple hundred passengers, things began to go awry. Nothing big, just lots of confusion over orders and some difficulty getting initial drink orders in and coffee with our desserts. The buffet room got extremely crowded at times! The cruise was adequate overall - the rooms basic, the buffet food barely warm, the dining room service just adequate. I will complement the main dining room food for being very good with a decent menu each night. Also liked that there was an afternoon tea time with nice snacks. We opted to upgrade to the non-premium alcoholic beverages package (1st time we ever did this!) for a very reasonable price. BTW- the drinks on the ship were excellent! This is a smaller and probably older ship with 400 cabins. The only full exterior decks are Deck 5 and Deck 8, which is small. We didn't avail ourselves of the entertainment, but in passing it seemed good. There was not a lot to do on the ship however. The shore excursions were handled by Insight, and were excellent. I think there are not a lot of choices in cruise lines for this itinerary and overall it seemed a bit expensive for the quality of the floating hotel.
The cabin was basic but everything worked! We had a large picture window with no obstructions. Some people had life boats blocking their view. No sofa. There are no balcony cabins but there are suites - VERY expensive! Service was very good.
BEST stop of the entire cruise. The Old Town is a working medieval city and just so impressive. The Palace of the Grand Masters is highly impressive too.
