Having cruised with numerous other cruise lines we were expecting extremely good service when we compare prices. Instead we were very disappointed. The embarkment process was somewhat chaotic and not as polished as other lines. On entering our suite, we remarked to the steward that the temperature of our cabin was too high and we were unable to control the air conditioning from our cabin. He informed us that they were having problems with the air con but he would report it. For the whole trip it never was fixed being either too hot or too cold. In the dining room my wife was given a blanket to put around her shoulders one evening it was so cold, as was experienced byt he rest of the passengers.

We had a most uncomfortable trip, I would go further to say it ruined what should have been a fine cruise. I have subsequently complained to Silversea but they have not had the courtesy to respond to my correspondence. If this is 6 star cruising I would not recommend it.

The staff were very good but lacked back up from above. I only saw the captain on one occasion which is not what I have come to expect on cruises such as this. Read more
