First trip of the Alaskan season, couldn't pass up how cheap it was compared to the weeks to follow. Trip started out rough, arrived to port on time then had to wait in customs once i had cleared it with a few hundred people only to have the people after we arrived go straight on the ship while we waited. The line to get sail and sign cards was not a well oiled machine but a very unorganized line. Not to mention the confiscated my tiny little plastic fan and 2 bottle of wine both of which you are allowed to carry on. Room steward randomly brought out wine back to us on 3rd day. Dining staff were nice but the main dining room took over 2 hours per dinner to get through the courses. My wife was positive that they had used this ship to train every one by time we got off. My biggest issue was all the rude people. Never seen so many people walk into the middle of a buffet line and start grabbing food off the line or go to the end and work their way into on coming traffic and act like you were the one in the wrong. The cruise director Jen was great. Our room steward did his job well. The cruise was fun but carnival needs to get their crap together.
Room was great, though not the best if you want to see wild life, by the time they announced anything it was long gone by the time we got up to it.
My least favorite port in Alaska unless you like cheap jewelry, crappy souvenirs or weed then kind of a waste of time
