Wanted to try Viking ocean cruises because of their high rating. This was a re-positioning cruise, with an interesting and varied itinerary.

We booked a pre-cruise trip to Madrid and a post-cruise trip to Oslo. The trips went well but Viking needs to improve on communicating information to it's customers. I did not receive information on the pre-trip until 2 days before departure. They did not tell me that the airport transfers were covered even though I'd purchased my own air. Otherwise, the execution was great.

Embarkation and disembarkation went fine. There's always a representative to assist you. The ship is beautiful and the cabins are spacious. The bathrooms are well-sized and efficient. There are so many dining options it takes a few days to figure it all out. The food was delicious and plentiful. Entertainment and activities were fine. Service was exceptional and the staff was great.

Cabin Review

Cabin DV1

We loved our cabin. Location was great for getting around and was super quiet. Would get the same room again.

Port Reviews

Lisbon

We took a tram ride and walked around the city but I wish we had more time to explore on our own. Perhaps if there had been a shuttle available into the city in the afternoon. Left feeling like we didn't see enough.

La Coruna

We took 2 tours this day - included tour which was good and another excursion to Betanzos. The cheese tasting was fun but then we had an hour to ourselves when the town was completely closed. BORING.
