We had a balcony stateroom which was designed and fitted out to perfection. The food was first class and the service from staff was the best we've every had. However, our only 2 complaints about the cruise was lack of entertainment at night for adults. We were second seating for dinner 8.45, however, didn't get out of dining area until 11.00 every night, which had a knock on effect for the entertainment side as music and entertainment stopped between 12.00-1.00. There was however, Quazor night club open until 3.00ish, but if you were over 30 years of age, you were too OLD! Certainly something Solstice should look at. Majority of nights we were in the Sky lounge which was live entertainment and very good at that but as we say, music stopped between 12.00-1.00. From other cruise ships we have been on, the entertainment stopped when majority of people retired to bed. You either had to leave dinner early to see the Theater shows or just completely miss out on it.

Second criticism would be the poolside. There were 3 pools, 2 outside and 1 indoor, however, the outdoor pools were full of children and no room for adults. One pool was supposed to be the 'family pool' and the second pool was the adult one, however, no proper signage at poolside to state this. It was however the parents responsibility for same, however, I'm sure if there were proper signages and rules for both adults and children to enjoy, it would make it a better atmosphere all round. It certainly spoilt my time at the poolside and forced my husband and I to go elsewhere which should not be the case. We spent a lot of money on this cruise and to be honest, it shouldn't have happened. Having spoken with the security staff on a number of occasions about the situation, something has to be done regarding this. We certainly wouldn't cruise with Solstice again until the poolside situation be resolved.

We found staff to be exceptionally helpful, however, have to say there was a change in attitude on our last night due to preparations for the next cruise. Atlantis (gay cruise) and allegedly the best and busy cruise for this liner. There was a decline in food choice in the Oceanview Cafe and an overall change in staff (too busy getting ready for next cruise)!

Cabin Review

Designed to perfection and good to see space under beds for suitcases!
