We are avid Carnival cruisers since we are close to platinum level now. We just returned from the cruise to the southern Caribbean and thought I would Share my review. I am a first timer on Cruise Critic. Let me go through the ratings; Cabin - we always get an inside because we do not spend much time in the room and we LOVE the darkness when we sleep. the cabin was adequate and just the same as the rest of the previous cruises. the room we stay in is not our priority. Dining - The cruise buffet in the morning had NO variety. the same food every morning. Must be cheaper to maintain. there was good variety at lunch - the food was tasty with deli, Mexican and American fare available. Dinners - NOT so great. Food was medium at best. three days of the same american fare and not very tasty. they change their desert menu every two weeks - deserts were not what we were use too. they only had cheesecake one evening. I would say do not expect the food to be GREAT on this ship. Embarkation - lengthy and hot you would think they could devise a better way. Activities - a few a day but the same ole ones. anything that can make them money they do many times (bingo, art auction). Entertainment - been on a lot of ships and this had to be the best entertainment we have seen. on board experience - ALWAYS amazed at the lack of consideration of other people!!! not the cruise company issue. HOWEVER - the smoking policy should be enforced. Saw numerous people smoking out of the designated areas and staff would not tell them to stop and go to the designated areas. Why have a policy and not enforce it?? Carnival needs to do something different with their smoking policy for the casino. You can smoke there. However, it is attached to the promenade area and ALL the smoke fills the main walkway on the ship!!! if you hate smoke you will hate carnivals set up.. they should enclose the casino if they are going to let people smoke in it.. IT RUINS EVERYONE ELSE'S EXPERIENCE... BUT they do not care because they make mucho money from gambling.... Service - was nothing to write home about. we were moved three times in the dinning room in three different days when we were assigned table 382. WHAT.. Can't speak to shore excursions because we learned many years ago to get off the ship and do your own excursions and save 1/2 to 3/4 the money from the price on the ships. example; Ship 50 bucks - off ship 20 bucks for the same excursion...

Cabin Review

Interior
Cabin 4A 1227
Normal inside cabin. Clean and adequate for us because we do not spend much time in the cabin so why pay almost double for a balcony we do not use... The one different thing with this room was, it had very good closet space. we loved that.
