I am a platinum guest with Carnival, so I usually book through Carnival to receive my perks. Embarkation was very disorganized. I boarded in Miami and was taken to the VIP lounge. Usually when boarding they announce Diamond members, Platinum members and then the FTTF guests. Boarding early is suppose to be one of the perks for a diamond or platinum guest. This time they just said all board now and it was total confusion. If Carnival is just going to have a cattle call to board then they should take this off the perks list for diamond and platinum guests. Also they are now coming around and asking if you want your room cleaned in the morning or in the evening. I told the cabin steward that I preferred twice a day as usual. Not sure if they are trying to change the policy and only clean the rooms once a day. I had to ask for robes to be put in our room and was told that you now needed to ask to have robes, however when you look at the amenities that are listed for the cabin, robes are on the list. So after boarding and finding out some new rules the trip was the usual awesome cruise. I know many people complain about the food but I thought it was great and if there is something that you do not feel is up to your standards they do not have a problem bringing you another meal. The steak house is well worth the money for a special treat. Entertainment is what you make it..you can do as much as you want or just relax and read.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Strolled around the city and had lunch. Wow, 10% sales tax on everything.

Grand Turk

Spent a great day at Jack's shack. The best beach bar with $4 beers and a platter of the best jerk chicken. Free chairs and the umbrella is $10. Always one of the best days of our cruise.
