This review is LONG overdue and have been meaning to post it for a long time! Let me start by saying that at the time of this cruise I had not had a full 7 day week off in about 5 years, needless to say I was REALLY looking forward to this vacation. Between the cruise fare, gratuity fees, shore excursions, casino etc. we spent about $3,500 which to us is a pretty nice chunk of change.

Overall the food & service was pretty awful which are two of the main things cruise lines are typically on top of. We also felt nickle & dimed the entire time, everything good or worthwhile was an extra fee. The first night on the cruise we attempted to go to the Manhattan room for dinner which was over an hour wait; we then figured we would try our luck at Taste or Savor which are the other two complimentary dining rooms. I can’t remember which we wound up at but the two are right across from each other with a bar in the middle. The wait was about 20 mins which I didn’t think was too bad, we figured we would get a drink at the middle bar while we waited. After standing at multiple spots at the bar I couldn’t get any service for 20+ mins! By that time we finally got seated and waited about 30-40 mins and couldn’t even get a waiter to come over to us for a cocktail order. Fed up with the entire dining situation we made our way to the Garden Cafe (buffet).

The buffet was basically a bunch of cheap food almost like a Golden Corral or local Chinese buffet would have. Mostly Chicken fingers, mac & cheese, hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, subs, etc. We at a little bit of the food that had been sitting under heat lamps for the past 8 hours and left, needless to say it was awful. We figured we would try the dining halls again I thought that maybe it was just a busy time and we caught them on a crazy hour. We wound up back at Taste/Savor this time service was slow but still a little better. Cortney ordered a Sirloin Steak and was brought out two pieces of Roast Beef, I ordered the Duck and was given noodles and tiny chunks of meat similar to eating Hamburger helper. Needless to say awful again, we then left.
