Having enjoyed our a previous cruise 3 years ago on the Royal Princess visiting various ports in the Mediterranean we decided to cross the Atlantic this time and chose Thomsons for this one to the Caribbean, opting for two weeks via the Paradise Islands and Tropical Delights package as it offered us a direct flight to Barbados for departure with no faffing around with connections via Fort Lauderdale or similar. We went with friends who had the adjoining cabin to us and had a great time on the TUI discovery.

Departure from Birmingham Airport was very efficient, once you dropped your bags off, the next time you saw them was outside your cabin on the ship. The flight over was fine, we paid for extra legroom so that helped our comfort. Not a dreamliner which was not an issue for us (It was a dreamliner on the return)

The ship was smaller than the Royal Princess but the benefit of this was that it was easy to navigate your way around the vessel and you didn't find yourself constantly waiting for lifts! Our cabin was on deck 6 and being fairly centrally located this also enabled us to access all facilities pretty quickly and easily.

Cabin Review

Well maintained. Bed was comfortable and our steward Carlos was helpful and friendly. Nice to wake up in the morning and be able to pop out to the balcony and see the sight of the next island.
